Hi Hari,

Yes. they will send the ID card  and study material to your address.
You can give the exam as you wish. You have to submit the Exam application form.
1. You can courrier it to IEI Kolkatha with the DD for Rs. 2000
Or
2. You can submit the exam form online and make the payment through credit card/online banking account.

Hi Praveen,

Need your help in clarifying the following doubts.

1. I'm a native of Kerala, working in Bhopal. So, which address should I put in the application form for Technician membership? I would like to write the exams in Bhopal.     Right now, I'm in Kerala and will be going to Bhopal in July only. That's why I'm confused in the address matter.
2. Should we provide our TC and Migration certificate? For regular BE/B.Tech courses, TC and Migration Certificates are mandatory for enrollment in University register.
3. How do I get the approval from corporate member of IEI in the application form?
4. How long will it take to complete my registration and receive the membership pack after submitting all the documents?

Really appreciate your prompt response..

Regards,
Sanchu Parameswaran

hi sanchu,
1.you have to write your Kerala 's  address in the application form. But,as you said you will give exams from Bhopal, so when you fill up examination form, write code no. of Bhopal center.remember, your Study material,as well as i-card will be delivered to your Kerala house address only.If you are sure that you will be working in Bhopal only till then you complete AMIE you can also write Bhopal address.
2.As per my knowledge, you don't require anything like this, but still get information from your local AMIE center.
3.you will have to contact Kerala AMIE center, they will tell you where you can find a  corporate member nearby you.Do this before you go to Bhopal.& its free of cost.
4.After you send the form with other details, it will take minimum 4 months to get registered.after then, you will find your name in AMIE newly enrolled members list.you will also receive SMS saying you are selected as member.after you are registered, you will receive study material in about 1 month.and after that within 2-3 weeks you will receive I-Card in a separate post.
if you have still more query contact me on - iamharsh25@gmail.com

Minimum duration for passing both sections is 4 years, however professionals with 3 years polytechnic engineering can complete it in 3 years since they are exempted from certain examination papers of Section A. Project work, Laboratory experiments can be carried out only after clearing at least 5 subjects of Section B.

The Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) is a professional certification given by Institution of Engineers (India). The qualification can be earned by passing Section A, Project Work, Laboratory experiments and Section B examination of the Institution.
If an applicant passes Section A, Project Work, Laboratory experiments and Section B examination, he or she becomes an Associate of the Institution of Engineers (AIE). The Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development considers this qualification is equivalent to a degree in engineering. AIE was earlier Grad IE (Bachelor's degree of Institution).
Government of India in continuation to its earlier recognition, has recognized passing of sections A and B examinations as revised, conducted by The Institution of Engineers (India), as equivalent to bachelor's Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering of the recognized universities in India.[1]
AMIE is also recognized by UK-NARIC as British Bachelor's Honours degree.[2] AMIE is also recognized by the Foreign Credential Service of America as equivalent to Bachelor's degree in engineering.[3]
Minimum duration for passing both sections is 4 years, however professionals with 3 years polytechnic engineering can complete it in 3 years since they are exempted from certain examination papers of Section A. Project work, Laboratory experiments can be carried out only after clearing at least 5 subjects of Section B.

Hello pravin,

My Name is niraj and i am planning to take AMIE. I have done 3 year diploma in Electronics and video engineering from St. Xavier Technical Institute Mumbai. Have been working after completing my diploma in IT field.

Now would like to pursue further study and do AMIE. I have been reading the post and would like to get clarifications on few points.

Based on my understanding, being diploma holder i have to apply for senior technician membership, but how do one verify from supporter.Where one can approach to get this verified?

Can form me filled and submitted in Mumbai? or it has to sent to Kolkatta?

Appreciate your feedback on the same.

Hello to all,
I am planning to join AMIE and came across this online forum and find it out very helpful. But I have few doubts about AMIE, if any one please help me regarding this.

1) Is there any specific time to join AMIE or any time I can join?
2) I saw that as a T-member I have to pass 19 papers. And as per rule I can sit for 4 papers at a time. So will it take 2.5 Years to complete entire course?
3) Is there any semester system? I mean is there any sequence to appear in subjects or I can appear any SECTION A papers in any sequence?

Hi, my name is Jeyaraj living in Bangalore.

Will it be feasible for me to write in Jun'17, if I register for AMIE this month (Dec'16)? Or I can only write in coming Dec'17 based on some policy that member can write exam only after finishing six months from the date of membership?

Please clarify.
