Have a couple of queries regarding Section B.

a)If I clear section A now then do I need to complete Section B in the immediate subsequent 6 years or can I register for Section B later
with my exemption/certificate of section A.

Example scenario ( theoritical and maybe a little weird):

2014->Assume I clear Section A .
2020->Then this is theoritical time limit for clearing section B  assuming I start immedietly after clearing section A (i.e 6 years)
2014 to 2021->I dont appear for section B for some reasons (just assume for argument's sake)
2021 -> Now I want to appear for Sec B .So..Does my section A qualification/certificate become null and void?Or I can just register for section B
keeping section A certiifcate intact ? How much time I get to clear section B then ?

b)How are the practicals for Section B conducted.Does the AMIE get the practical classes conducted at the college referred , and then conduct the exams or they directly conduct the exams? I intend to appear for Section B computer science and engineering. I can clear the list of experiments which are S/W related (data structres etc) as I am a trained software engineer. But some 3-4 experiments are
related to digital electronics/computer HW for which direct exams will be difficult for me without any training.

Dear Rohan,

Coming to your queries:

(a) Yes you can retain your Sec A status and shall be permitted to appear for Sec-B of course in existing scheme of that time of year 2021(It may happen that the scheme will be changed till then as it changed in 2005)
You will get fresh 6 years for Sec-B. The process is know as Re-registration.

In case you did not passed any subject of Sec-B having passed Sec A(which is the case in your example), then you may appear for Sec-B after 5 years. This process is know as Premature Re-registration.

(b) After passing 5 subjects in Sec B one may apply for Project and LAB experiments with separate forms.
You may find the list of colleges which provide LAB facility for AMIE aspirants in IEI official website.
While applying for LAB experiments, you are free to choose the college within the list, you have to fill the desired college name in the form.
The rest will be conducted by the college. They will conduct 10 experiments of concern branch and issue you the LAB Completion Certificate which in turn you have to send to IEI in original.
For Project report, you will be allotted Project guide nearest to your registered address with IEI(which can be changed also giving sufficient reason).
One point to note here is that one have to complete both Project and LAB experiments within the 6 years of Sec B as both of these are requirements of Sec B fulfillment.

Hoping this will help,
All the best.
