Title: AMIE REGISTRATION
Post by: aji on October 25, 2012, 06:15:53 AM
How to register for AMIE:-

Educational Qualification:-
1. A recognized 3-year Polytechnic Diploma or its equivalent, in any branch of engineering.
No marks restriction
OR
2.    +2/HSC/PDC with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with minimum 45% marks.

Those who pursue AMIE after Diploma course are usually known as Diploma Stream Students, and others Non-Diploma Stream Students.

How to Register:

The admission to AMIE Course is open round the year. The admission procedure is also very simple. All those who took admission in AMIE are called Non-corporate members of the Institution of Engineers (India). Only registered members are eligible to apply for Institution examination. If you are new to AMIE we will help you in all processes throughout admission.
Based on educational qualification, there are two categories of Non-corporate membership
1. Senior Technician (ST) membership, and
2. Technician (T) membership.
If you passed 3 years' Engineering Diploma or equivalent, you may apply for Senior Technician membership, and if you have passed +2 or equivalent, then apply for Technician membership.
To Get Membership
1. In order to get membership and join for AMIE, students can use downloaded 'Membership Form'.
2. After filling up, the photograph and educational qualifications are to be verified by a 'Supporter'.
3. Anyone with AMIE/MIE/FIE grade can be a 'Supporter'

Dear AMIE aspirant, its easy to be passed in amie but needs hardworking, dedication and consistency in studies. Every day complete concentration for half hour will reach to goal and the student will be successfull in his target. But the question is which time will be suitable as the days are short in winter after work there is no time to see the books. As the children are waiting for outing, anyway there is no impossibility in this world. cheer up and start.
Thanks

I am not sure if I am still enrolled or not. I sent draft to some Jyothis Academy in Kerela. They even sent me the study materials but I haven't heard anything from them after that. I've heard that August is the limit for registration for winter exams, so kinda anxious. Any help ?

Hi Raulsingh,

For registration you have to send the application form and DD to IEI, Kolkata not Jyothis Academy in Kerela

Do not ever go with untrusted coaching centers.  I heard lot of such news from  Jyothis Academy in Kerala. Please beware of this.

:ugeek:   :ugeek: I've completed Diploma in EC and would very much like to take admission in AMIE Section B papers, but with all this RECOGNITION matters going on I'm scared and confused of it..what to do ? I even tried to contact some local centers through calls but none can be reached, the nearest ones are Ghaziabad and Delhi centers. As I'm looking forward to sit in Winter 2014 exams, I kindly need some serious assistance here. Please tell me if I should go for it or dodge it and get admitted in some B.Tech college through lateral entry.   :?:   :?:

PLEASE REPLY ASAP !!! :(

Note: Posted in here because I saw this one active recently and I'm trying to get a reply soon, sorry if its in the wrong thread.   :|

Hi.As you are from diploma background you have to complete your section A first before appearing for section B exams.
If you have not applied for membership in IEI till now, then its impossible for you to sit in the winter 2014 exams.

If you are not employed anywhere, the better and safe option would be to complete your B.Tech through regular mode. But if you are employed in any organization then you have no other option except IEI....

Hey skp85, first of all thanks for replying and second, I recently visited the Delhi center, and there I met some official who told me not to worry about the RECOGNITION thing as its not a BIG DEAL (according to him)...and he told me that I have to clear 4 sec A papers then 9 sec B papers plus lab and project etc to be an AMIE...now the questions that still there are -
1. RECOGNITION ? The next court date is coming 10 sept 2014 and application last date I'm told is 20 sept 2014 for winter 2014 exams, can I apply after 10 sept ? Is my info. correct ?   :?:
2. At the age of 26 which is better, a regular B.Tech or this AMIE ? (as I'm seeking and moving from job to job)   :?:
3. Even if I work pretty hard n keep clearing my papers, to apply for all 13 papers it'll take 4 semesters i.e. 2 years approx. plus that Lab & Project...so I'm thinking what is the minimum time period that this AMIE can be achieved (according to me 2 years - am I thinking right) ?   :?:
4. I read this at many places in this forum - "One can appear for GATE even after just completing section A of AMIE." - so one can do M.E./M.Tech by qualifying GATE just after clearing Section A in AMIE ?

Please clear these much doubts and I'll be grateful to you !   :ugeek:

First of all please mention whether you have got your membership number. If you have got it,then
Yes, you can apply for examination after 10th september.
I still consider that a regular degree is far better than amie(Its my personal opinion).
You can clear your amie in 2 years, but for that you have to study really very well. Its a bit hard to clear in 2 years but its not impossible.Depends on how well you prepare.
M.Tech can only be done after clearing section B.

If you have already enrolled with amie then its better to stop thinking about anything else and start your preparations for exams. As its already september i feel that you cannot take admission in any regular degree now.Can you?So please fill your exam form and start preparations, that's the better option for now.
Try to get a good job with your present qualification(diploma) and you can continue your amie without thinking about the recognition issue.
Hope this helps....
