Dear AMIEKEKA,

No matter how much we'd like to save ourselves from an embaressing situation & disaster, we must prepare for the worst.

Its True that papers might increase, but so will the maximum no of paper's u can appear in each session

plz note IETE's system wherein A Candidate has a systematic approach to appear in exams without the no of papers being limited.. Yes for new subjects they'd be limited to 5 i guess.. I am not sure though.. IETE ensures a fair comparision because they issue the certificate only after 4years of enrolment so in job applications, they'd be able to write 4years degree. Opposite AMIE the passout rate to the entry rate is higher.. Provided their approach.. Usually 4yrs. Nothing so sure can be said about AMIE.

I knew a person who was a mechanical diploma holder himself & completed in 2yrs flat that too with a mix of old & new system

how ? Let me explain
section A- winter 06 (passed all 4 subjects)
section B- summer 07 (passed 3 subjects)
winter 07 (passed 3)
summer 08 (passed 3 + lab & practicals)
this fellow did have a tough time explaining that.. Even online job application forms refused to accept anything lower than 4years. So i guess we do need some standardization.

Increase in paper might be good in the long run only.. Please consider our condensed form of study at iei presently.
3-4 subjects are merged in 1 single paper.. So that would lessen the burden, increase our knowledge & help in the long run. Please dont panic. If you are already registered please concentrate on passing asap.. Good luck

Dear AMIEKEKA,

the last time IEI changed syllabus.. I remember around 2006, (it also changed from marks to Grade system)

IEI conducted both old & new syllabus papers..
The old candidates were free to continue till their registration validity or give up their exemptions & enrol in New pattern afresh..

In cases when candidates switched over to new syllabus, all previous results automatically got deleted in IEI recored (start again from scratch)

so IEI will in no way give AICTE certified degrees to present batch under any circumstances.
Hope it clears the situation

3
it can be done by a NON IEI person too but the attesting authority should be A Degree Engineer, with experience & position above you.
All the best

4
If you are a Sr. technician Member, i.e. Diploma holder already, then by virtue of you passing diploma, you are eligible for JE exam

if you are a +2 candidate, you cannot appear for JE.
There is no separate equivalence for passing only section A. Work hard to pass Section B asap. Then You can apply for both JE as well as SSE rhru RRB exams.

That is provided AMIE doesnt lose recognition from MHRD
hope it helps

Stop posting such fu*** posts and misguiding new students. AICTE has already approved AMIE 2-3 months ago. Just work hard and pass AMIE.

Unfortunately AMIE is & never was recognized either by AICTE or DEC . Earlier norms allowed it to be an Engineering Degree out of the purview of both but it has all changed.
Please note that merely because IEI was established before independence, it hasn't "earned" the right to flout rules openly. Modern methods, updates & advancements in technology needs to be added to the curriculum to stay at par with global competition.
Yes IEI is/was recognized better than regular boards sometime back but it will be hit badly if it loses recognition in India itself.
AICTE never & i mean NEVER recognized AMIE. They always mentioned its out of their purview. DEC clarified it cannot be held an Distance Degree that's all

New rules mandate that

1) Either IEI change curriculum to match the AICTE standard syllabus, training & other factors.. OR
2) They can wait & file a review to AICTE with the current curriculum.

If they go for the first, the syllabus may remain the same, the no of papers & the difficulty may go up.
or in 2nd case they may lose the recognition at whole.

In any case, AMIE was never recognized by AICTE & that is the root of many problems faced by AMIE holders.

Hope it clarifies the case

this attachment is the court judgement that AMIE is not vaild for Equivalent to BE/B.Tech.. it can only considered for promotion and not for direct recruitment !!! :(

Dear Mr. Balu,

Its totally on the employer if they choose to accept AMIE graduates for direct recruitment. UPSC had done so for many years for ESE exams. Railways too, now when once the court has given judgement against AMIE, it may get a bit patchy from here.
Moreover the MHRD letter in the above posts could bring bad news.

Dear All

it simply means Govt. Of India is pulling back its recognition to AMIE, the future is uncertain on its recognition. I hope IEI admins do take due notice

Here is the file, sorry to every one for the mistake

Within India, AMIE is undoubtedably just the same as any normal Regular BE/Btech.
A lot of ppl make fun of the degree, a lot are there who consider it to be some sort of distance course, some even deduce their own conclusions with the term 'equivalent to bachelors degree in engineering' statements. Heres some clarifications.

1) IEI provides a degree passing sections A & B. Though the most of the theory papers is self studied, it can also be studied at local / state IEI centers.

2) AICTE has banned Distance B. tech very long time back. Distance B Tech doesnt provide practical labs or project work. Which IEI does. So the degree is totally valid (Recognition of AICTE is given in attachment). IEI graduates do have their fair share of practicals, lab experiments
projects just like any B tech prog.

3) it may interest some of you who laugh at the IEI degree that our entire education system runs on the equivalency of one prog on another.
Many may have passed their 10th std from state boards..
10th std from state boards is considered EQUIVALENT to passing 10th std from CBSE & so is the 12th std :).
Corporate ppl who just run after big degrees like MBA would also find it interesting that your top most institute for management. IIMS (ALL) doesnt provide MBA degree. The degree provided is Post Graduate Diploma in Management PGDM. Now this PGDM is considered equivalent to MBA.

IEI Graduates are the same in all respect & hence no 'alien nor inferior' to be discriminated at random.

Please download the attachment, go thru each & every page of this document & clarify yourself that theres no recognition more left to acquire :-)

Dear Sir,

Please note that to become eligible for registration in Section B, prior engagement in profession is compulsory for both Technician and Senior Technician members. There is no fixed period.

Thanks,

Subject: Reminder Clarification reg entry to section B of AMIE for Technician (non-diploma) members

Dear sir i had a few queries & had mailed it at this address last week,
heres a gentle reminder about the issue which hasnt been answered yet

    Dear Sir,

I have a few queries for which I was unable to find answers in the website www.ieindia.info please clarify them if you can.

    1)      Do technician members need to have one(01) yrs of experience prior to registering for Section B exams, I have seen this for the Sr. Tech. members stating that “He/She shall be engaged in the engineering profession as a pupil or apprentice or assistant under a Corporate Member and shall, in the opinion of the Council, be making satisfactory progress in the acquisition of qualification for Corporate Membership provided that temporary unemployment is no bar to his election."

Also I have seen that in the application form for enrolment there was written under Pt no. 4.Engagement : At the entry point, engagement in the profession of engineering is not necessary. However , each candidate shall be required , before appearing in ‘Section B’, to satisfy about his/her engagement in engineering profession under qualified engineer for atleast one year

My question here is, do I need to have 01 yrs experience prior to registering for section B even though in the website it is required only for Sr. Tech. members?

The new webpage of IEI at http://www.ieindia.info/ACElligibility.aspx states that

    tECHNICIAN MEMBERS

Every candidate for election as a Technician Member shall satisfy the Council that he possesses the following :

     [A]   AGE

He/She shall have attained the age of 17 (SEVENteen) years on the date of his/her application for election.

       EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

He/She shall have possessed an educational qualification recognized by the Council as given in the Institution Examinations Rules (Volume I).

    [C]    ACADEMIC TRAINING

He/She shall, in the opinion of the Council, be making satisfactory progress in the acquisition of qualification for Corporate Membership.

Here it is nowhere related that a years experience is necessary.

I am a technician member & I would like to complete my degree & then concentrate on job so please clarify me out sir.

    Thanks & Regard's
