Hello frds,
I have done AMIETE, Delhi...
Recently I cleared the written exam of AAI(Airport Authority of India) for the post of Jr. Exe. ATC
But they didnt allowed me to appear in interview saying that AMIE/AMIETE are part time course not full time and the eligibility for the post is 4 years full time course.
Can anythng be done in this regards,
please help me and repli asap.

Moreover, now I have cleared the written exam of RAILTEL...
I am afraid if they also allow me to appear in interview or not..
Here also the eligibility for the post is 4 years regular Btech or BE.

Please help me what should be done and what can be done.
Thanks and Regards,
Pankaj

Can this matter be taken to the court...
Would It be helpful or not..
It may benefit others who are going to be AMIE/AMIETE graduates.
I have completed M Tech from a decent college and have got a decent job but want to enter into PSUs.

It is really upsetting that AMIE/AMIETE Recognition is becoming such an issues. There should be someway to approach to this issues, if it is that hard after completing the course! I think someone has to come forward, the institution and us. With this kind of issue, how are we to continue? I am preparing for the winter exams but this issues..... its disheartening me already.

Hi
this is very unfortunate that we people have put up lot of hard work and then earned this degree which is now just a piece of paper as degree is not valid overseas. This situation has arisen due to indifferent attitude of these useless people occupying the chair in Kolkotta HQ and doing nothing. Worldwide people are facing problem in recognization of AMIE degree but for these gentleman its not their bussiness. Really from director to secretary general level all are good for nothing . If you want to talk to them they are not ready to listen because they are incapable person. If person like Bishnujee wanted to do something then these people are not ready to co operate with him. Simply neither they want to do something nor they want other to do .
If you talk to Mr Gupta he rudely replies as if he is rendering some favour to you and what to say about Secretary General he is a busy man with no work in hand.
I request these stalwart to look in their inner core of soul and listen atleast that answer if other voices are not heart to them.
With Best wishes

Dear Rajat,

This is being discussed between IEI senior members but yes you are right that they have no action plan or way to move ahead on this issue. That has been the most unfortunate part and we hope that they take initiative in this regard.I have submitted plan to them for overseas and most important local recognition within India since most Graduate of IE India start their career as Engineer within India.
As most of you must be knowing that I work for Engineering Council-UK and IMechE(UK) & RAeS and Engineers Australia on their Professional Engineer licensing in UK,Australia,USA and Canada region. So I have explained to IEI team what need to be done to ensure recognition within India and overseas.Definitely for overseas accreditation they need to separate application with us and once those steps are completed there should not be issue. But yes currently in this transition many Engineers might be affected due to this stalemate.
Definitely lack of vision and direction of IEI Council has been affecting in major way.

Hope for the best.

Kind regards

Thank you Bishnujee  for your sincere efforts and advise.
We request you to  persue the plan  or make these  statues/sculpture  of IEI to act or move ahead . If they slightly move the INDIA will move,  generation will move ahead.

Dear Bishnujee

I hope U will be able to give me a clarification. Actually I am Bangladeshi pursing AMIE from IEI. According to Indian government gazette AMIE is equivalent to Bachelor degree of engineering but IEI is not recognized/listed by UGC (India) and AIU as a University level engineering higher education provider (Providing engineering education is one of the purpose of IEI). If IEI provided degree credential say its equivalent to bachelor’s degree then why UGC, AIU and Association of commonwealth universities/International association of universities did not recognizing IEI as well as AMIE. For foreign or local recognition of degree don’t you think UGC and IAU recognition is most important for IEI??

Dear Mahtab,

Its transition phase for most Professional Degree level qualification holders. In future its likely to be fixed. With regards to your question UGC or AIU (Association of Indian Universities) either of bodies have different role in India. One is UGC which is central nodal body which provides Grant to Universities set up by act of parliament.AIU is private association of Indian Universities which consists of member universities.IEI is institution set up in India during pre independence period under British laws. Therefore IEI set up doesn't comes under act of parliament.Few things could have been better implemented in IEI or Professional Degree in Engineering programs run by IEI ,IETE,AeSI,IME,ICE etc. They could have followed similar standard which is followed in UK and other common wealth countries where Engineering Counci-UK and City & Guild used to have courses run by accredited Universities and colleges in UK and common wealth countries world wide. Some how this was missed in India when these courses were first introduced in India. But any way any Degree you achieve anywhere in world whether it is taught course or research program only after successfully completing assessment exam and IEI is no exception in this regard.

Hope the above information helps.

Kind regards

Dear friends,

IEI has been taken many important decisions in their 10 yr. perspective plan from 2012 to 2022 , out of which few are below :

1. IEI continues its education programme whatever is decision in the court.
2. Initially IEI was only organisation that gives recognition to universities & colleges for engineering education, before formation of AICTE. Hence now IEI have taken decision to take actions to increase collaboration with industries , increase emphasis to get recognitions from industries & various educational societies & universities.
3. Increase collaborations with world wide organizations like IEEE , IMechE (U.K.) , ICE (U.K.) etc.
4. IEI will restructure its engineering examinations. IEI is thinking about its own IEI Deemed University or an Institute of National Importance (as setup by CSIR) & that will be empowered to gives own degree. There will be an exemption from Section-A examination for Diploma holders & inclusion of Section-C for chartered membership & for qualifying for registration as professional engineers.
5. In addition to available distance learning programme in engineering , IEI is thinking to create an infrastructure for developing management courses like project management & finance management etc. These courses will be of short time & job oriented.

6. All above actions will be taken within 2 to 3 years.

Last but not least every person in top management of pioneer industries clearly knows the value & important of AMIE education & standard , hence need not to be afraid.
Don't worry be happy.

With Best Regards,
Pravin V. Tembe
