Dear Deepti,

There is currently MSc Engineering program being run by consortium of 3 universities for working Professional from UK while being in active employment. You should be eligible for same based on IE India Degree.

http://www1.aston.ac.uk/eas/postgraduat ... gineering/

Also there is another one being run BITS Pliani MS Engineering program but it all depends on your previous branch of Engineering background.

Also you should be eligible for most of Masters Engineering program at any Universities which could be done by regular studies. There is also Scholarship options available for Indian Engineers in Poland where tution fees is waived off for admitted students. All program is run in English language.UK also has scholarship option but its purely on merit and not on your need based.Candidates have received 100% scholarship.

All the best and good luck.

Dear Ranjeet,

IGNOU used to do but not advisable since their recognition is doubtful when you plan to do something in future globally with your career. The one I have advised previously are some of the better options since they are run by proper university who are accredited one.No point in doing non accredited degree at any level.

All the best and good luck.

Dear Sir,

M Sc Professional Engineering offered by Aston university is quite costly affair as the fees for a internationational
student are £4,300 per year + operational costs means more than 3.5 Lacs per year in INR.

I'm not able to spend so much money on a distance learning programme.

I went through the website of Karnataka State Open University which offers M. Tech. and their fees are also nominal
but i doubt their recognition.
Can you give some suggestions on this university ?

Ranjeet

Dear Ranjeet,

Most of Universities in India are under regulatory control of AICTE which had made mandatory for compulsory studies at campus for Masters in Engineering subjects in India. It may be Full time/part time but not distance learning. So there is no way distance learning courses operating from Indian Universities will be able to pass through the recognition of AICTE.Another important thing I do not understand the logic behind spending even any amount behind non accredited courses unless some one is doing Degree for fun. There might be wide difference in academic programs from Aston University in UK where there is trend for Independent study means lesser support from Professors and more on individually unlike in Indian system where there is extensive support of Professors and guidance. In UK whether you are full time/part time students you can expect to do everything by yourself.Only once you are on finish line, your course leader professor would be there to sign off on your project and course work program.
Also you will need to understand that most of developed countries program fall under Washington Accord countries degree program whose accreditation is acceptable in all countries whether developed or developing ones.

So far only 2 Indian Universities have managed to break the shackles, they are VIT,Vellore and SRM university, both are accredited by ABET (American Board of Engineering & Technology) board, only organisation to accredit Engineering Qualification in United States and Engineering Council-UK.So there tution fees in India will be on same parity with those of USA universities even though they are located some where in India.

Always best option is to get scholarship and if you are very best in your Engineering profession ,there are many Professional bodies across the continents who should be able to sponsor for same accredited Masters and PhD programs in Engineering. But do bear in mind excellent means very best as its purely on merit on competitive basis and not on your current economic situation and need.

http://aerosociety.com/Assets/Docs/Winn ... 2003-4.doc

Whatever you decide to do,do it wisely ultimately its individual only who studies and makes or breaks his career. No University can do the study for the student.

Good luck and all the best.
