hey guys i just received the study material from iei kolkata...while going through i found out that the textbooks have been changed...all my amie friends refer the jain brothers text books while there is an whole new list of authors in the study material...i am in a total dilema in which to continue...plz advice....

you can refer william callister's book for material science and engineering.This book is really helpful.

Publisher : Narosa publishing.

2)Society & environment.
Author : S C Naik & T N Tiwari
Publisher : oxford & ibh publishing co (p) ltd

3)Material science & engineering.
Author : R.K.Rajput.

@VARMA: the text books u have listed are already in the study material with bold letters....i just wanted the best one to study...plz do tell me if u come across anythin...

u should understand very well that no text book fully coveres the amie syllabus but jain brothers book is near to syllabus but not enough so for solution of this problem, u should study some refrence books for them.

1.for Design ; jain brothers book is enough and u can use jain brothers ten years solved paper my three friend got grade H after study these two book. i also studied them and feel confident in the exam of summer2010.
2. material science: I.p. singh text book and WILLIAM CALLISTER as reference book but there is a problem that
WILLIAM CALLISTER reference book does not cover heat treatment. so u should study a seprate book for heat treatment.
