Hi All,

How good is the book

1. "Materials science and Engineering" L.H. VanVlack, Pearson Education, This is the textbook prescribed for IEI. Is it worth reading from the book?

2. "Materials Science and Engineering" by Callister, WIley inc.
3. "Materials Science and Engineering" by IP Singh and Subhash Chander, Jain Brother


Which of the above three is best? Which one covers the syllabus completely. Given that i have 2.5 months from now (till winter 2010 exams), can i complete the materials science and engineering syllabus, studying 2 hours a day?

Hi,

Studying 2 hrs a day is not sufficient. Spend sunday and holiday fully since we have only 2.5 months for attending winter 2010 exam.

I've did it with Callister's book along with the book which provided by IEI

Aslo get some question bank which will contain quiestions from 2005 and all

You can use solved question papers but cannot rely on the answers, they can be for referance for which you are not able to findout in books {afterall something is better than nothing ya ???}

When comparing to other, Callister Book is easy to understand and the illustrations are more clearer than other. The basic fundamentals are written in a clearer way and we can understand easily and illustrations keep the ideas in mind in a better way. (Author R. Balasubramaniam)
