How to Learn Anything Quickly

Postby rohit.wadhwa » Mon Jul 27, 2009 1:21 pm

Image Learning never stops. It is a life long process. And you don't have to be a genius or have a high IQ to keep
learning and growing intellectually. Here are a few steps to learn anything for educational, work, or fun purposes quickly.

Instructions

 Things You'll Need:Motivation

 Step
1
First, know why you are reading the material. Exactly, what are you trying to learn? Is every section in the book important or is it OK to skim a few pages. And just remember key paragraphs. This will save time and help to focus on what's most important about the subject.

 Step
2
Write down what is already known about the subject. Next, write down things you already know on the subject. Search quickly through book chapters looking for answers to what you don't know.

 Step
3
Make sure to grasp important points on the subject while quickly skimming. This will help the learning process once you start reading in depth.

 Step
4
Try anticipating what the author will cover next in the book while skimming along. This will help keep interest and focus high.

 Step
5
Think as you read! What would you like to know most about the subject. Make a game out of it. And try to answer your questions before reading it in the book.

 Step
6
After reading the material close the book. Now, grab a pen and summarize what was read into one paragraph. This exercise will show if you have the major concepts down or need to review more.

 Step
7
Write down all the questions you think should know when finished reading the book. Quiz yourself on all the questions you've written down. Were there any weak spots? If so, focus on learning that material until it is memorized
Thanks

hello !
first thing i want to tell you , your mind should alway be fresh and increase your concentration level by doing PRANAYAM regularly . OR simply take short breaks and after you start and end close your eyes. And think about what you have done at that break

Just to add, instead of having a mindset to prepare only for exams, if you have the eagerness and enthusiasm that you are going to learn new things and gain knowledge there is no subject in this world is difficult.

It is good, can help in proper reading and studying.

one more related to same topic.
I use one trick while remembering points.
I use to make one work line or ryme by one or more alphabates of titles and write it dowm in my text book.
Dont compare it with mugging up without understanding.

For example :
Differnt types of HEAT TRETMENTs
all what I undersood and I learnt from book about all 10 types, I will write in exams for sure.
but what if I fail to remember 1 or 2 types.
so make one suitable ryme of sentence or whatever to remember those 10 type(names)
so you will not loose any marks.
even If you are running short of time just write those 10 types first and cover up max marks.

I have read one very good post related to "How one has to write in exams?
for reference giving thread link below.

Hi guys

I would like to make Just an addition to all points as a trick rather than tips,
I wonder wheather it will work to all

1.Dont miss the diagrams at all....Just put some effort in understanding and studying the diagrams and only read through the explations regarding that ,dont byheart, just understand. Try to explain it in your language but dont miss the technical terms or phrases. This will help to memorise the answer
2.Any thing you study , make a rough note (rough means just rough no elaburated one, only points and while reading try to fill the answer in your own technical words
3.Try to have group study with friends
Find some friends who is interested and explain all what you learned like you are taking a class to them
It will really boost your confident and you can notice significant change in reproducing the answer IN TIME

Regards,
Asish :)

How to Remember Things Using
Study Tricks
Step1: Visualize. If you're
having trouble remembering
facts about Bill Gates, picture
Bill Gates with things in his
hands and in the background.
For example, you can picture Bill
Gates with a Microsoft logo,
standing in front of a bunch of
computers. It's an oversimplified
example, but it shows that by
using a picture, you can jog your
memory.
Step 2: Create acronyms. For
example, to learn the the musical
notes that are on the treble clef,
create an acronym. Since they
are E G B D F, you can say Every
Girl Buys Dumb Fashion, or
something silly like that. (You
can use a standard one, like
Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge,
but making one up may help it
stick in your mind better.)
Step 3: Make a song or poem
out of what you need to learn.
You'll remember the beat and
pattern, so you can remember
thoughts more easily with the
reference. To tune of Mary Had a
Little Lamb, you can say,
"Oranges and apples too, Lots of
grapes, and kiwi, I know lots of
yummy fruit, because it's good
for me. Once again, simple
example, but the concept works.
Step 4: Bring thoughts
together. It may be hard to
remember lots of separate
thoughts, but if you can bring
them together, it may help your
studying. Even if thoughts do
not match well, you can still
associate them.
Step 5: Have a friend quiz you.
By answering the question out
loud, it may stay in your mind.
Plus, studying is much more fun
with a friend.
Step 6: Write down important
tips as you study. Writing things
down often helps people
remember, because you're
applying what you know.
hope u understand it
with warm regards,
Rajesh
