Book Recommendation for SECTION B MECHANICAL

Hello People,

I know it would be very difficult for most of students of AMIE Mechanical to know to study from which book. Well, here is my recommendation for the books that would cover nearly 99 % of the syllabus covered.

1. Mechanics of Solid - Strength of Material By Ram-Murtham
2. Mechanics of Fluids - Fluid Mechanics by R. K. Rajput
3. Thermal Sciences - Group A - Thermal Engineering by R. K . Rajput
Group B - Heat Transfer by R. K . Rajput
4. Industrial Management (100 %) Syllabus - Industrial and Buiness Management by Martand Tenshang S Chand Publication
5. Design of Machine Elements Machine Design by R.S. Khurmi
6. Manufacturing Technology :- Workshop Technology by Vol1 and Vol2 by B.S. Raguwanshi

Group I Thermal Engineering
7. Refrigeraton and Air Conditioning : Refrigeration and Air conditioning R.S. Kurmi
8. Power Pant Engineering : Power Plant Engineering by PK Nag
9. Non Conventional Energy System : SP Sukhatme
10. Internal Combustion Engines : IC Engines by Dr. Tipse Jaico Publication (IC Engines by Mathur Sharma and IC Engines by V. Ganeshan are very big but IC Engines by Dr. Tipse is exam oriented very nice book )
11. Turbomachinary : SM Yahya

Group II Engineering Design
12. Design of Mechanical Systems : G.E. Dieter
13. Optimisation Theory and Applications : too Many books to refer (Please don't select this Subject)
14. Analysis and Synthesis of mechanisms and machines : TOM by RS Khurmi if still want to go basic level get the BOOKS by TOM1 and TOM2 from Techmax Publication Pune University
15. Design of Machine Tools : NK Mehta

Group III Manufacturing Engineering.
16. CAD : CAM/CAM/CAE by Techmax or Nirali Publication Pune University
17. Manufacturing Sciences : Workshop Technology Vol 1 and Vol 2 by BS Raghuwanshi Danpati Rai Publication
18. CAM : CAM/CAM/CAE by Nirali or Technmax Publication Pune University
19. Tool and Die Design : Production Technology by PC Sharma
20. Manufacturing Automation : MP Grover
21. Production Management : Industrial and Buiness Management Martand Tenshang S. Chand Publication.

PS Under any circumstance don't go for the foreign Author text books or the ebooks available on the internet because there are various jump skips in the mathematical Derivation for topic stick with the Indian Authors or the Local Publications for a particular university.

Simple short and easy now go to study and get your AMIE Degree

Cheers,
iStealth

Hi istealth,

can you suggest me out of these 5 subjects, which are all easy to clear fast. i heard from seniors that design m/c elements is difficult? is it so? and suggest which subjects i can choose together to give exam with similar topics (i.e. thermal science & R&AC).

1. Mechanics of Solid
2. Mechanics of Fluid
3. Internal Combustion Engine
4. Thermal Science
5. Design of machine elements.

Thanks in advance.

thermal Science - Difficult since you go to use 2 Books for 1 subject
Machine Design - Easy when learnt from a Teacher if you are studying on your own make it kind of difficult
Mechanics of Fluid - Middle level
RAC - Tough to understand initally recommeded book is RS Khurmi

If you are living in adjoining Pune area i would be starting classes for AMIE Student all Subject by Jan 2012 for Summer 2012 exams ...

My recommendation Would be like this

1. IC Management
2. RAC
3. Thermal
4. Mechanic of fluid
