so finally what is the conclussion.

AMIE is equivalent to degree or is a degree.
What would be the significance of the term "equivalent".

Do someone have a copy of the Part 1 Section 1 of Gazette of India.
(as the attachment is a notification & not the actually publication)

Further, in the letter from AIU, IGNOU & UPSC the reference is to Institution of civil engineers (india), is that also refereing to the IEI(India)

"equivalent" here probably means that both BE & AMIE are of the same standard. ( like 10+2 of the CBSE & 10+2 of the state boards for example)

it clarifies that AMIE should not be thought as a DISTANCE course in BE.
the Actual Gazette Notification was published on 11th feb 2006

Help needed.. Is there any PDF format notification by d Railway Board (Ministry of Railways) accepting AMIE as degree , just notification number isnt enough it would b more helpful if theres a scanned copy of the notification
